How It Works ↓
Why "3 Weeks + 1 Month"?
Classic intensive courses have a known weakness: you learn fast, pass the exam, and then you are suddenly alone in the air with three weeks of experience and nobody beside you. Many fresh pilots become anxious and quietly stop flying. We built this course to fix exactly that. After your 3-week block, you keep coming to our regular school days through the whole of July, included in the price: same instructor, same radio in your ear, same team at launch, but now you are flying as a pilot, consolidating everything you learned. You leave with a licence and confidence.
How It Works
1
Before the course (from spring 2027)
Theory self-study with the FlightDeck app (approx. 1 hour/day for 2 to 3 weeks), SHV membership and insurance setup, equipment fitting with us, and 1 to 2 groundhandling days so your hands already know the wing. We guide you through every step on WhatsApp.
2
Week 1: Foundations
Training hill: launching, steering, landing. First high flights with radio guidance by mid-week if weather and your progress allow. Video analysis every evening.
3
Weeks 2 and 3: Flying, flying, flying
Daily high flights (weather permitting) across our Central Swiss sites: Emmetten, Wolfenschiessen, Engelberg and more. Maneuver training, thermic basics, exam preparation. Target: the ~50 flights and exam-readiness by the end of week 3. One rest day per week, your body will thank us.
4
The exam
SHV practical exam at Wolfenschiessen, the site where you trained. If weather steals too many days, your included school month simply carries you to the exam: nobody runs out of time.
5
+ 1 month as a pilot, with us (included)
The whole of July on our regular school days: supervised free flying, your first thermals, site briefings, gear fine-tuning. This is what turns a licence into actual confidence, and it is included, not an upsell. By this stage most of you will be launching fully independently, no marshal needed: that is the whole point.
This course is for you if…
- you can take 3 consecutive weeks off (June 2027) and want the licence this year, not "someday"
- you want structure, momentum and a fixed goal instead of scattered weekends
- you value small groups: we cap this course at 12 students, and from the 7th sign-up a second instructor or instructor-aspirant joins the team, plus launch marshals at every start
- you are reasonably fit (if you can hike up a small hill, you are fine) and at least 15 years old
What we ask from you before day 1
- Theory prepared with the FlightDeck app (we track your progress and help where you are stuck)
- SHV membership (CHF 120/yr) and liability insurance (CHF 82.50/yr) arranged, we walk you through it

Good Questions
What if the weather is bad?
Swiss reality: some days will not be flyable. That is exactly why the included school month exists: it absorbs weather losses, so you do not pay extra and do not run out of runway before the exam.
Is 3 weeks enough to fly safely?
Three weeks is enough to be exam-ready, but we do not think it is enough to be a confident pilot. That is the honest answer, and it is why the +1 month exists. We would rather build pilots than print licences.
What if I cannot finish in the 3 weeks?
Your included school month carries you forward. If you need even more time, our regular School Extension (CHF 750 / 3 months) is available, but with June weather and daily training, most students will not need it.
How is this different from the Full Training?
Same instructor, same sites, same standards. Full Training (CHF 4,500) spreads over up to 12 months at your own pace with unlimited flights, ideal alongside a job. The Intensive compresses the journey into one summer with a fixed group and a fixed goal, and costs less because it is concentrated. If your schedule can take it, it is the fastest honest path to the sky.
Deposit and cancellation?
